[IP Solution] Can I connect ACTi's analog encoders to IP decoders?

 

A.

We have identified an issue when using ACTi’s analog encoders in combination with IP decoders, where the encoder cannot be registered, or even if registered, the video is not displayed correctly.

■?DX0231-IP, FDF2731W-IP (System Software Ver.7)
This issue can be resolved by disabling the encoder’s “RTP B2 Frame” setting. Please register the encoder using the “ONVIF” protocol.

■?DX0212-IP, FDF2712W-IP, FDF2312W-IP (System Software Ver.6)
Apply system software version 6.20 or later, and disable the encoder’s “RTP B2 Frame” setting to resolve the issue. Please register the encoder using the “ONVIF” protocol.

■?DX0211-IP, FDF2711W-IP (Ver.5) and FDF2304W-IP, FDF4627W-IP (Ver.4)
You must register the encoder using the “DirectUri” protocol. When connected via the “DirectUri” protocol, only video display is supported.
The following settings are based on verification results using the ACTi V2224 encoder.

[Encoder Settings]

Select "RTP" and set "RTP B2 Frame" to "Disabled".

[IP decoder settings]

Open the IP decoder setting screen with a web browser and register the encoder.

1. Select "Camera Registration" to display the camera list.

2. Check the position number and click "Manual Registration".

3. Select "DirectUri" for "Protocol", enter the following information, and click "OK".

4. Click "Apply".

The video from the camera connected to the encoder is displayed on the IP decoder.

Troubleshooting

? The video stops or an error message appears

Make sure that "RTP B2 Frame" in the encoder is set to "Disabled".

? No image is displayed

Make sure that the username, password, and URI you entered are correct. Select "Port Mapping" in the encoder and make sure that "RTSP Server Port" is set to "554".
