How to Use the Webcam / Microphone
This product has a built-in webcam and microphone on the bezel. It can be used for a web conference or when signing in to Windows using Windows Hello face recognition.
When using the webcam/microphone, you will need to connect a PC to the monitor with a USB cable.
Follow these steps below to connect and set up.
- Slide the privacy shutter to the left to open it.
Attention
- Keep the privacy shutter firmly open until the end. If it is partially opened, Windows Hello face recognition may not work properly.
- Connect the USB upstream port of the monitor to the PC via USB.
- In the case of USB-C signal input, video signals and USB signals can be transmitted with the single USB-C cable that is included, so no additional USB connection is required.
- For DisplayPort or HDMI signal inputs, connect the USB-B connector (upstream) of the monitor to the PC using the included USB 5Gbps cable.
- Configure the association between input signals and USB upstream ports.
- In the case of USB-C signal input, the USB upstream port is fixed to USB-C, so there is no need to check the settings.
- For DisplayPort input or HDMI signal input, go to "USB Selection - DisplayPort / HDMI 1 / HDMI 2" in the settings menu and set the connector ("DisplayPort", "HDMI 1," or "HDMI 2") connected to the PC using the webcam to "USB-B".
- If you use Windows Hello face recognition, you must set up Windows Hello on your PC. For setting details, please refer to our web site.
- How to check: Go to www.eizoglobal.com and type "Windows Hello" in the search box on the web site.
Using the Docking Station Function
This product is equipped with a LAN port and USB hub so that it can be used as a docking station. - Connect a USB-C cable (CC200SS-5A or CC200SSW-5A).
- Connect the LAN cable to the monitor's LAN port.
- If necessary, connect a mouse, keyboard, or other device to the USB downstream port.
Attention
- This function may not work depending on the PC you are using, your OS, and your peripheral devices. Contact the manufacturer of each device for information about USB compatibility.
- Even when the monitor is in power saving mode, devices connected to the USB downstream port are operational. Due to this, the power consumption of the monitor varies depending on the connected devices, even in power saving mode.
- When the main power switch of the monitor is off, a device connected to the USB downstream port will not operate.
- When "Compatibility Mode" is set to "Off" and the monitor power is turned off, devices and LAN ports connected to the USB downstream port are not operational.
Note
- The MAC address can be found on the back of the monitor. MAC address pass-through is not supported.
- By using the EIZO MAC Address Clone Utility, you can temporarily replace the MAC address of the EIZO monitor with the MAC address of the computer. For more information about the EIZO MAC Address Clone Utility, refer to our web site. (www.eizoglobal.com/products/flexscan/mac-address-clone/ )
- This product supports USB 5Gbps. When connecting to peripheral devices that support USB 5Gbps, high-speed data communication is possible.
For USB-C connection, you can switch between display signal priority "USB 2.0 (480Mbps)" and USB speed priority "USB 5Gbps" (see Signal Format (USB-C)) The default setting is "USB 5Gbps" and the maximum USB transfer speed is 5 Gbps. - For USB-B connection, the LAN port cannot be used.
