Pixel Inspection

This obtains the color information of the pixel at the specified coordinates*1. By comparing “the color information of pixels in the input data” and “the color information of pixels after conversion to the full RGB range inside the monitor,” it is possible to check whether an appropriate production environment has been created.

  1. Since coordinates are specified for the input signal, the adjustable range of the horizontal/vertical position depends on the input signal.

Specifying Coordinates

When the "Pixel Inspection" menu is selected, a coordinate marker for specifying coordinates will appear on the screen.

  1. Turn the adjustment dial to select “x” (horizontal position) or “y” (vertical position) in the “Pixel Inspection” menu and press the adjustment dial.
  2. The adjustment menu appears.
  3. Turn the adjustment dial to adjust, and press the adjustment dial.
  4. If you change the value, the coordinate marker will also move accordingly.

Specifying the Bit Depth

  1. Turn the adjustment dial to select "Bit Depth" in the "Pixel Inspection" menu and press the adjustment dial.
  2. The adjustment menu appears.
  3. Turn the adjustment dial to select the bit depth, and press the adjustment dial.
  4. ・"Auto" (default setting)
  5. The bit depth is obtained from video signal metadata.
  6. If there is no bit depth in the metadata, it will be "10 bit" if the bit depth of the metadata is other than 8/10/12 bit.
  7. When "Auto" is selected, the bit depth obtained from the metadata is displayed on "Bit Depth" in the "Pixel Inspection" menu.

Execute Pixel Inspection

  1. Turn the adjustment dial to select "Execute" in the "Pixel Inspection" menu and press the adjustment dial.
  2. The color information of the pixels at the specified coordinates will be displayed as the execution result.

    Color information of pixels after internal conversion to the full RGB range by the monitor

Attention

  • When "Input Range" is set to "Limited (109% White)", the value normalized from 0% to 109% of the input signal by 0 to 1023 (for 10 bit depth) or 0 to 4095 (for 12 bit depth) is displayed in "Converted to RGB Full".
  • When a pixel with a time code (SDI / ST 2110 Settings - Time Code Settings) is specified, the color information of the displayed time code is obtained instead of the color information of the input data.
  • When a signal other than progressive is input, color information reflecting image processing inside the monitor is acquired instead of color information in the input data (see SDI / ST 2110 Settings - Interlace / PsF or Deinterlacing).
